In Chicago's Highland Park/Ravinia neighborhood, a homeowner wanted to re-energize her home and enlisted the help of Inspired Interiors to transform the underused spaces.
The team at Inspired Interiors, led by Emily Mackie, focused on creating a flow from room to room and transformed the first floor into a collection of functional and vibrant spaces.
The foyer was overhauled to make a statement the moment you walk in, with twin, full-length mirrors with tempered glass shelves on either side of the entryway to allow light to filter better through the space.
A once desolate furniture graveyard, the living room, was transformed into a cherished space for intimate moments. Another underutilized space in the home, the sunroom was given a new lease of life with the addition of a chic L-shaped banquette and table, a cozy reading nook, and space for a piano. The room was brought to life with vibrant artwork, colors, and patterns that harken back to the client's Indian heritage.
A cramped and clunky space was transformed into a fabulously functional dining room by incorporating a luxurious banquet and table set along the wall, opening up circulation throughout the home and making the room feel spacious.
Finally, the powder room was overhauled to go from 'meh' to 'wow', proving that even a small space can be transformed by impactful design. The custom vanity, lively wallpaper, and elegant lighting now match the energy and style of the rest of the first floor.
"We are thrilled with the results of this project and are happy that the client and her family are now able to enjoy their home to the fullest," says Emily Mackie, principal designer at Inspired Interiors.
